ANTIQUARIAN
A period piece for the antique lover, featuring images inspired by the medieval clock tower – the Torre dell’Orologio – in St. Mark’s Square, Venice.
Printed on ivory leather to resemble old parchment and mounted on a honed, black granite wheel with a grooved edge, Antiquarian shows the zodiac names, images and glyphs, as well as a central graphic to help identify the occurrence of trines and squares – two of the major aspects in astrology.
The metal components are solid brass with an aged, natural-looking patina and a semi-matt lacquer.
Orreries are made to order and, depending on stock levels, can take up to three months to arrive.

EMPYREAN
A more spiritual version in royal purple for anyone drawn to magic and mysticism.
In ancient cosmology, Empyrean was the highest heavenly realm, consisting of pure fire or light, “where human will and God’s will became as one.” Purple is associated with nobility, authority, wealth, wisdom and creativity, and is thought to elevate consciousness to a divine level.
Printed on rich purple leather and mounted on a semi-polished, golden granite wheel with a grooved edge, Empyrean shows the zodiac names, glyphs and images, as well as the unique combination of characteristics embodied by each sign.
The metal components are solid brass, highly polished and clear gloss lacquered.
Empyrean is also available in Midnight Blue.
Orreries are made to order and, depending on stock levels, can take up to three months to arrive.

NEOTERIC
A sleek, modern version in stainless steel for the style-conscious minimalist.
Neoteric means ‘recent’ and derives from the Latin neotericus, which itself comes from the Greek neōterikos and neos, meaning new or young.
Printed on luscious ebony leather and mounted on a polished, nero granite base with reverse chamfered edge, Neoteric forgoes images and glyphs to focus only on words – the name of the signs, along with their designated modalities and elements.
The metal components are unlacquered, polished stainless steel.
Orreries are made to order and, depending on stock levels, can take up to three months to arrive.

GLASS DOME
All editions are sold with a protective glass dome. These prevent interference by children or animals and keep the orreries clean and dust free. The dome should be carefully removed and set aside in a safe place when the orrery is being used.
Each dome is individually hand blown so may vary marginally in size and shape. They may also contain tiny bubbles or white streaks which is not a defect but evidence of manual production by skilled workers. The glass is about 3mm thick but is nevertheless fragile and should be handled with care.
VEDIC MODEL
Current NOSTI models reflect the practice of Western astrology which uses the Tropical Zodiac. This assumes that the start of the year (0o Aries) coincides with the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (around 20/21 March).
Vedic or Hindu astrology defines the year (and therefore the zodiac) according to the Sidereal system that employs a different time scale based on Earth’s rate of rotation relative to the fixed stars. Like its Western counterpart, it uses 12 signs (Rashi) and 12 houses (Bhavas) but only includes nine celestial bodies (Navagraha), ignoring the three outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) which were only discovered relatively recently. It also places greater emphasis on the Moon, including the ascending and descending lunar nodes (Rahu and Ketu) and the 27 lunar mansions (Nakshatras), one for each day of the lunar month.
Vedic Models for NOSTI are in development and will be available in 2022.
